"I have updated my review to reflect my continued interactions with this agency and its broker. My initial interaction was with Caldonia Hart, who contacted me to sell an insurance policy. The call lasted over 30 minutes and she repeatedly failed to record the VIN numbers for the vehicles being insured, requiring me to stop multiple times to retrieve the same information while I was actively managing contractors at a newly purchased property. The lack of organization and attention to detail was apparent from the beginning. Toward the end of the call, I advised her that I needed to get off the phone. Despite this, she continued discussing a form that allegedly needed to be signed. According to later conversations with the broker, this form was critically important. However, I never received it. More than a month later, Ms. Hart contacted me again and aggressively stated that I had failed to sign the form. Rather than attempting to resolve the issue professionally, the conversation focused almost entirely on blaming me for not completing paperwork that had never actually been provided. I was instructed to ignore any bill that arrived while the issue was supposedly being resolved. Shortly afterward, I received a bill anyway. I then contacted Mr. Ferland directly. Unfortunately, the interaction was even worse. Rather than listening to the concerns being raised, he immediately defaulted to defending the agency and shifting responsibility onto the customer. He repeatedly insisted his staff had done nothing wrong despite being unable to verify that the required form had ever actually been sent. To his credit, Mr. Ferland eventually admitted that neither he nor the agency could confirm the form had been delivered through their system. He acknowledged he could not verify the email transmission and could not identify where the agent had sent the document. Despite this, he remained adamant that the agency bore no responsibility for the situation. Several weeks later, Mr. Ferland contacted me again to revisit the matter. During this conversation, he appeared to reference highly detailed statements from prior calls that sounded less like summarized notes and more like verbatim transcripts, which raised concerns regarding whether conversations were being recorded or transcribed without disclosure. The most revealing part of the conversation was hearing Mr. Ferland proudly point to a generic reminder email sent by State Farm corporate as proof of proper follow up. This completely missed the actual issue: the agency itself failed to ensure the required form was delivered, signed, or properly followed up on before threatening cancellation over additional billing. At one point, Mr. Ferland openly stated that his agents are “too busy” to follow up extensively with customers. That statement alone summarized the experience perfectly. The agency appears highly focused on acquiring business but significantly less interested in servicing clients once the sale is complete. Ultimately, Mr. Ferland told me the purpose of his final call was to get me to admit “1% responsibility” for the situation. Considering the agency could not verify the form had ever been sent in the first place, the request was difficult to take seriously. This entire experience reflected poor communication, weak operational oversight, inadequate follow up, and an unwillingness to accept accountability. Rather than resolving legitimate customer concerns, Mr. Ferland consistently appeared more focused on defending the agency and minimizing obvious service failures. Good agencies solve problems. Poor agencies argue about them. Unfortunately, this experience was firmly the latter."

"Thank you for your message. We take all customer concerns seriously and are committed to delivering an exceptional experience while continuously improving. After speaking with the customer on April 27th and May 12th, I’d like to address the comments: After purchasing a policy on March 16th, our Agency Team Member requested the required form, as per our process. Despite requesting and urging to sign the form during the call or that evening, it was not signed. On March 17th at 3:22 PM, we sent a text reminder: “Hello, we've sent for eSign your Auto insurance policy's required form. Please check your email and eSign at your convenience. If you need assistance, call us during business hours. Thank you! - Fernland State Farm Team” Additionally, on April 1st, State Farm sent a letter via email titled “IMPORTANT NOTICE: Information Needed for Your Auto Insurance,” stating 15-days remained to return the form. The form was never signed or returned, and per Florida law, an adverse action was applied to the policy. Upon receiving notice, we called you to explain the adverse action and its resolution. Our team reinstated your original policy and again requested the signed form to prevent recurrence. During this call, you disputed the need to sign, stating, “No, that’s not true. I don’t believe you. You’re lying. I’ve never had to sign one of these forms before.” When asked to review the form, you agreed and signed it immediately. Although the adverse action is irreversible, the policy was restored and will remain as originally issued since the form has been signed. While we regret this situation, describing our agency as misleading and lacking accountability is inaccurate. Multiple communications were sent regarding the form. The only documents we said were available in the app are your declaration page and ID cards; we never claimed the required form would be there. Reminders were sent after verbal confirmation and reassurance to provide the signed form. We are continually reviewing and improving our processes to better meet customer needs and ensure smooth transitions. While we take full ownership of customer interactions, this case involved verbal assurance and reminders. The accusations do not fairly reflect how we conduct business. Although an imperfect start to this relationship, we reaffirm our commitment to serving all of our customers with the best possible quality and quantity of services. --(May 18 Update)-- Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback and provide additional context—we truly appreciate it. We’re sorry to hear that parts of your experience with our office felt frustrating. Our goal is always to provide clear communication and a smooth, well-organized process, and it’s important to us when we hear that something didn’t come across that way. Collecting accurate information, such as VIN details, is an important part of setting up coverage correctly, but we understand that the process should also be as efficient and convenient as possible. We’re also taking a closer look at how we communicate and follow up on required documents to ensure everything is clear and easy to complete. Regarding your question about call documentation, we do not record phone calls. We do keep internal notes to help track conversations and important timelines, but we appreciate you bringing up that concern. You mentioned a concern that our team may be “too busy” to follow up extensively with customers. While that does not reflect how we operate, our focus is on moving forward by providing the attentive service and consistent follow-up every customer should expect. "My Insurance lady Gillian is amazing I'd recommend her to anyone. For at least 20 years I've thought about Insurance and life insurance sales people the same just out for your money and when you need help you have tons of hoops to jump. Just a few phone calls with this amazing person changed that I now have full coverage policy on my car and life insurance cheaper than what I was paying for with my last insurance company only having the bare minimum State required so no full coverage or life insurance or free towing assistance. I now have even more peace of mind that if anything were to happen to me that my two beautiful kids will be taken care of. Thank you Gillian and State farm for everything"
